“On the Map” is a series of fanzines exploring life on the cultural periphery through the places, people, and stories of Hadera. Through personal documentation and editorial design, the project gives visibility and character to spaces that often remain outside the cultural center.
I come from the periphery of the country, though what counts as the periphery is always up for debate. “What, you don’t live in Tel Aviv?” is a sentence I have heard many times in my life, and still do. Trying to understand why it bothers me when people speak badly of the place that truly shaped me, I began to explore my city, and to love it. Crowning this good periphery was my mission in these fanzines.
